Which are better, yorkies or pugs?

I don't know much about pugs, but I do know about yorkies. Yorkies typically do not care for children, especially small children. They can be territorial and mine is not good at getting along with other dogs. Yorkies are HORRIBLE at potty training. They take a lot of time to housebreak and some never fully get it and continue to have accidents in the house well into adulthood. Yorkies also tend to be fairly expensive. Good luck.
