Why do people think counseling will always fix your marriage?

I see so many comments/responses to the questions from people who want to know what they should do when their spouse is in love with someone else or if their spouse doesn't want to be in the marriage anymore. I also see harsh comments about "the other woman" uming that she's just there because the husband is lonely or infatuated. A counselor cannot make your partner fall back in love with you when he's no longer is AND it does not make him a "dog" for falling out of love with you. It takes two to watch a marriage break. Just because you are married does not mean you somehow have a power to change the other persons heart. Let them go!! If they want to be with you... they'll stay. Going to a "counselor" will only prolong the departure but if he Truly in in love with someone else...no body can change his heart. Why would you want to be with someone who doesn't love nor is "in love" with you anyway? Children can survive off the love of one parent. They have been for years and turn out better when they see their parents BOTH living with healthy self esteem and self respect.
