Is it really harder trying to live in the prison system than in society? trying to deter nephew from that life

please take in to consideration that my 15 yr old nephew will be reading this so give him the real deal on what prison life is like. i hear so many horror stories of life on the inside and how bad gans and drugs are in the system. basically prison is more corrupt that our society is from what ive been told. is it true? remember my nephew will be reading every answer on here. be as as you have to be.
