Help with my hairstyle?

K, i my hair style is kinda like a shag, with wings and all that, almost like zac effrons hair in highschool musical 1 or 2 ( i havent seem much of them) . But now, it dosent seem to get as wavey and flowing, need some help how to get some flo. Rember, just on the side and back. I use a hairdryer, and some gel, but it dosent work the best. Ty for your help.
